Tata Digital, a leading IT service provider to the retail sector, has launched its super app ‘Tata Neu’. This mobile app has been developed as a one-stop solution for customers to place orders and make payments for their favorite brands. Tata Neu will allow its customers to order from any brand discovered on the Tata Digital website.
Tata Digital, the Tata Group company, is unveiling a
new app for Android and iOS devices today, called Tata Neu. This app enables
customers to search for products based on their unique three-digit Quick
Response (3D-QR) code. With Tata Neu in their pocket, customers can experience
the best in personalization and communication while they are out shopping. In
addition to 3D-QR codes, the app will also allow users to scan QR codes of
competitor products as well.
Tata Neu app under Its Digital’s portfolio will help
travellers to explore and plan their trips perfectly, from booking flights and
hotels to reading reviews and finding the best local activities in their
destination.

Tata Digital, a subsidiary of Tata Sons, on Wednesday
announced the launch of Tata Neu, a consumer super app that will bring together
multiple products and services to consumers in one place.
The digital platform aspires to serve over 500 million
customers and aims at building a business of USD 5 billion over the next three
years.
Tata Digital has made an investment of Rs 1,500 crore
in the platform; it plans to invest another Rs 2,500 crore in the next 12-18
months. The super app will be built on a technology stack from Google Cloud and
will also leverage other services from Google. Tata Digital said that Tata Neu
is a new brand and will not be linked to any existing Tata Group businesses or
brands.
Tata Digital has set up a separate entity — Tata Neu —
which will operate the super app and its various offerings. The company has
appointed Krishnan Ganesh as CEO of the venture. Ganesh is currently the
chairman of Portea Medical, TutorVista and BigBasket.
The company said that Neu would offer services across
categories such as healthcare, ed-tech, commerce, home services, entertainment
and more. It added that it might also look at launching "insurtech",
"fintech" and "travel-tech" offerings eventually.

seamless shopping experience by accessing over 10 categories and 100-plus
brands across various areas such as groceries, fashion and lifestyle.

The company has also launched an accelerator program
called Future Group Accelerator Program (FGAP) to support startups that have
solutions across domains such as retail technology, supply chain and logistics,
payments and customer experience.

Tata Digital plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in building
a robust technology platform for the Tata Neu app and is targeting to reach 500
million customers in the next few years. The company expects about 40 per cent
of its revenue from Tata Neu to come from non-Tata Group companies.

Tata Neu Ecosystem
Tata Neu will support an ecosystem of partners and
brands by bringing their products and services under one roof. The app will be
launched in phases. In the first phase of the launch, consumers can avail
products and services from BigBasket, Croma, StarQuik and Voltas Beko through
Tata Neu. The second phase will also include services from other group
companies like Titan and Tata AIA Life Insurance.
The Neu App will feature a slew of new offerings like
'Tata Neu Pay' - a payment gateway built on UPI 2.0 technology.
The app is
currently in beta and the full version will be launched later this year.
In a statement said that the super app will have single sign-on, giving users access to multiple services provided by the group's companies in one place. Currently, it is offering four verticals - health and wellness; education; grocery; and entertainment.
"Tata Neu was conceptualised to drive digital
transformation for the group's businesses and at the same time, bring new-age
technologies such as cloud computing, AI and ML to millions of consumers at
large," Rajesh Gopinathan, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director
of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), said.
Tata Digital is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Sons,
the holding company of the USD 115 billion salt-to-software Tata group.
The app is currently in beta and the full version will
be launched later this year. Tata Digital aims to leverage its capabilities to
provide users with better experience by integrating artificial intelligence
(AI), machine learning (ML) and other smart technologies into Tata Neu, Tata
Group's digital arm said in a statement.
Tata Digital said it is also looking at entering food
delivery space and e-commerce market through Tata Neu.
"The rapid pace of disruption has made consumers
more discerning than ever before. They want to be able to find everything they
need at one place," Tata Digital CEO Pratik Pal said.
